POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS

In 2006, the Defenders Action Fund gave the environmental movement its biggest electoral victory ever, with the defeat of the supposedly unbeatable Rep. Richard Pombo (CA-11), the then 14-year incumbent and chair of the House Resources Committee.

In 2008, we will build on this success and run several similar integrated, independent expenditure congressional campaigns where we believe we can successfully replace congressmen who are staunch anti-environmentalists with new pro-environmentalists. 
We will also work on key environmental ballot initiatives across the country.
