DEFENDERS ACTION FUND LAUNCHES SPANISH LANGUAGE RADIO AD CRITICAL OF PEARCE AND WILSON FOR SUPPORTING BIG OIL OVER NEW MEXICO CONSUMERS Albuquerque, NM – The Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund launched a new Spanish language radio ad this week criticizing Reps. Steve Pearce and Heather Wilson as "a flip of the coin" when it comes to supporting big oil companies over New Mexico consumers. The ad highlights that Rep. Wilson took $525,000 in campaign money from big oil companies and voted for the Bush-Cheney energy bill that gave big oil companies billions of dollars in tax breaks. Rep. Pearce took $492,000 in campaign money from big oil companies and voted against higher gas mileage for cars and trucks, and even voted not to prosecute gasoline price gougers. "Heather Wilson and Steve Pearce are two bad for New Mexicans rightfully angry about the high cost of gas," said Ed Yoon, the group's state campaign manager. "While big oil companies make a killing off of us consumers paying increasingly close to $4 per gallon, Reps. Wilson and Pearce took hundreds of thousands of dollars from these oil companies and voted to give them billions of dollars of tax break." For more information, please go to www.2Bad4NM.org.
